Tax For Actors is an Independent Accountancy firm that aims to provide a clear and transparent service for theatrical professionals.

It was set up in 2011 by Managing Director, Owen Woodgate, as a means to help a few friends with their tax. It has grown steadily since then and is now one of the most talked about businesses in its sector, with clients ranging from West End Performers to Photographic, Production and Corporate Entertainment businesses.

Before choosing a performance career, Owen studied Economics, but took a serious detour to train as an actor. Owen graduated from Mountview Academy in 2006, going on to perform in the West End and on UK and International Tours.

Between 2011 and 2014, he worked as an Actor’s Agent for Keddie Scott Associates in Covent Garden, which gave him a detailed perspective of the integral workings of theatre. He also gained experience as a Casting Director, having been asked on occasion by professional companies, to use his expertise.

Alongside Tax For Actors, Owen is the Managing Director of Magnetic Entertainment Limited, a corporate and theatrical entertainment production company.

His understanding of the performing arts industry is second to none. As a performer, he himself found it difficult to find an accountant who possessed the depth of knowledge required to fully understand his career. So he decided to share his expertise and make the daunting world of tax more accessible.
